Philippians 3:8-9 (NLT)
8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9 and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.
Prayer Focus
For a heart that treasures Christ above all and rests fully in His righteousness.
Lord Jesus, when I consider the surpassing worth of knowing You, all else grows dim. Yet I confess how easily I cling to lesser things—achievements, approval, security, and the comfort of self-reliance. Teach me to see them rightly, not as treasures to trust in, but as gifts to hold lightly.
Grant me a clearer vision of Your infinite value. Let the knowledge of You deepen beyond familiarity into communion. May I not merely know about You, but know You—Your heart, Your mercy, Your transforming grace.
Deliver me from confidence in my own righteousness. Where pride whispers that I am sufficient, humble me. Where shame insists I am unworthy, remind me that my standing before the Father rests not in my record, but in Yours. Clothe me daily in the righteousness that comes through faith and anchor my hope in what You have accomplished.
Shape my desires so that gaining You becomes my greatest aim. Let my life reflect the quiet joy of One who has found a treasure beyond price and rests secure in Your saving grace.
