Psalm 119:36–37 (NLT)
36 Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!
37 Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
Prayer Focus
For redirected desires, guarded eyes, and renewed life through God’s Word.
God, redirect my desires toward what truly matters. Turn my heart away from the endless wanting that consumes my attention—the craving for possessions, status, and hollow distractions that promise fulfillment but deliver only emptiness. Guard both my heart and my eyes, for what I allow myself to dwell upon shapes who I become.
Instead, anchor my affections in Your Word. Remember the promises You have given me, the foundation of hope You established. When temptation whispers that I need more—more security, more validation, more comfort—remind me of Your faithfulness. Let Your testimonies become the lens through which I evaluate what deserves my longing. Amen.
